Oxnard Man Dies In I-15 Motorcycle Collision Here is the Newspaper Article that I read when I found out about Jason: BARSTOW - A 19 year old Oxnard man died early Saturday morning after he fell off a motorcycle and was struck by several other vehicles, coroner's officials said. We found out later after the investigation, that Jason was struck by a vehicle and fell off his motorcycle and wasn't speeding. He was then struck by two other vehicles |

Here Is Jason's Obituary: Jason Scott Whitney, 19, of El Rio went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2003, after a tragic motorcycle accident in Barstow, California. He was born March 23, 1983, in Ventura and had lived in the El Rio - Oxnard area his entire life. He graduated from Rio Mesa High School in 2001. Throughout his life, he was active in sports, participating in Little League Baseball, Football, Wrestling, Weightlifting, and Hammer Throwing. He earned numerous awards and recognition for his accomplishments In 1997, at the young age of 14, he successfully completed the Ventura County Sheriff Explorers Program. Those who had the honor and privilage of knowing him are keenly aware that he was mature beyond his years. He showed dignity and respect to all those he came in contact with and was a sweet and very caring young man. He was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. He had a very altruistic personality and placed the needs of his family and friends above his own. He was a role model for his younger brothers. He worked hard for all of his accomplishments and wanted his family to be proud of him. He was very happy in his life. In his leisure time, he enjoyed being with his family and friends. He was mechanically inclined and one of his passions was working on classic Chevrolet muscle cars. Jason was employed by B&R Scenery in Camarillo, where he worked as a welder constructing stages for prominent musical artists. His family was very proud of him and was excited about his future. Jason was preceded in death by his Aunt Lisa Dianne Whitney. Jason is now in eternal peace with his Aunt Lisa. Although he is no longer present with us, his spirit will always live on within us. The memory of Jason will always occupy a precious place in our hearts. The Lord blessed us all by giving us almost 20 years with Jason. Jason, my special boy, you are my pride and joy.
